Not just spouts: here’s a quick example of our experience in offering assistance on packaging lines.
Creating dosing systems with innovative functions is in our DNA, as is proven by the variety of systems we’ve come up with; it gives us an edge on the market, and it’s something we’re proud of. But perhaps not everyone knows about another service we offer packaging companies; we help them optimise their packaging lines.
With years of experience in the sector we’ve come across all sorts of situations and problems that occur when you pack products, want to do so in the most efficient and effective way and are also dealing with major volumes. Companies invest notable resources in the packaging process for these very same reasons, and also in the relevant machinery.
To meet ever more demanding market requirements, sometimes an upgrade is required to make packaging lines more flexible and increase performance, optimising production as a consequence.
We often come across and are asked to work with very old machines and, in cases in which the original manufacturer no longer offers assistance, we can provide consulting and prepare a study to optimise resources.
Optimising packaging lines: Tacom’s experience
Here’s an excellent example:
A famous multinational asked us to provide consulting to see how they could reduce the size of the flaps used to close the box in order to use less paperboard and increase savings in terms of the relevant costs, which at the end of the day amounted to a notable sum. Obviously, this had to be done without changing the functional character of the packaging.
This is an example of how Tacom’s work isn’t just limited to specifically supplying dosing spouts but also includes the optimisation of production.
We studied how the flaps were folded on the packaging line and developed some new components, which our technicians installed and tested successfully at the production plant, to guarantee the boxes closed perfectly also with the smaller flaps, to the customer’s great satisfaction.
